Should We Profile?

End political correctness for our safety

My 2004 “Ten Bells Ring Terror” column documented the many patterned acts of war waged against America from outside our country before 9/11 (USS Stark, Cole, Khobar Towers, Tanzania and Kenya embassies, Lockerbie, etc). The point was, we were at war long before we ever realized we were at war. The caveat was political correctness is destroying our country.

The same pattern is unfolding again, only this time it’s inside our borders and focused — for now — on smaller, individual attacks. The most recent — reminiscent of 2001’s shoe bomber in style and materials — came Christmas Day in Detroit.

We’ve been fortunate since 9/11 to catch many conspiring terrorists before they could carry out their evil deeds, including 19 charged instances.

Most figured a simple, warped mind was behind 2002’s Beltway sniper killings; that is until we learned John Williams had joined the Nation of Islam and changed his name to John Muhammed before he and Lee Malvo gunned down 10 unsuspecting, innocent Americans going about their daily business. At his trial, the murders were described as part of jihad, which Webster describes as “a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.”

Earlier this year, Carlos Bledsoe shot two soldiers standing in front of an Army recruiting station in Little Rock, Ark., killing one. Bledsoe — who had changed his name to Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad and received terrorist training in Yemen — had converted to Islam in prison.

Imagine when the hard-core Guantanamo terrorists get here. There’ll be lots of new converts … thanks to our visionary president!
Then there was Maj. Nidal Hasan who stood on a Fort Hood, Texas, table last month and shouted “Allah Akbar!” — the same words each pilot shouted before crashing hijacked airplanes into to the trade towers and Pentagon — before shooting more than 40 fellow soldiers, killing 13.

And who couldn’t get excited about Obama’s plan to bring Osama bin Laden’s senior operative, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, to New York City to stand trial? KSM — as he’s known — is the confessed mastermind of those cowardly 9/11 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people. What a political propaganda bonanza that will be for terroristic Islam; they’ll be front page news in every American newspaper! Of course, KSM’s confession was “waterboarded,” so that will get tossed. We don’t want to violate his rights … to kill us!
When are we going to wake up and take back our country? When are we going to see someone with an Islamic name like Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab flying in from Yemen with no passport or luggage and racial profile him, pull him aside to make sure — by whatever means necessary — he isn’t one of the many pledged to destroy our country and way of life?
