Bend Over and Get Ready for Government Run Health Care

Listen up all you socialistic nitwits that propose to extinguish the fire of health care inflation by throwing THREE FRICKEN TRILLION DOLLARS at it.

Sheesh! I would rather have you in the fire department where you could only burn down a few houses with your insane logic!

First off, we don’t put our guvment in charge of anything to do with our health care! It ain’t in the constitution! and they will only make it worse in every way it can be worse! Want your health care politicized? Didn’t think so. (conservative bloggers go to the end of the transplant line!)

I’m gonna list some facts, you do the research!

  • The McKinsey Global Institute compared US health care costs to global costs to determine spending in excess of the value received. (I know them’s big words for you idiots but stick with me!) Bringing their conclusions from the 2003 numbers forward to 2008, just our “Excess” spending on administration is enough to pay for universal coverage for all Americans!
  • Let me explain that last bullet in terms even a bureaucrat can understand. You wanna fund health care for everyone in the USA? Cut the friggin’ red tape to a level approaching sanity!
  • I hear some nose-in-the-air dummies sayin’ that people who don’t have health insurance are just irresponsible and should suffer the consequences. Put this in your pipe and smoke it: The average cost to purchase health insurance for a family of four in 2008 was $6.35 per hour! Let’s see you geniuses work that into your budget if you work your tukas off for $10 per hour or so! Look around you smarty pants and get a grip on reality!
  • Let’s talk about waste. Start by eliminating all the unnecessary tests and treatments that doctors order to cover their butts in case they’re sued. Think tort reform and underfed lawyers instead of the crop of fatted aristocrats that now suck our system dry.
  • Then take away all the hospital stays and other costs to treat illnesses that are caused by prescription drug “mishaps”. I’m talkin’ where one doctor prescribes a med that is contra-indicated (look it up!) for a diagnosis that is being treated by another doc. Those that are caused by someone taking two or more drugs that don’t mix. Those who forget to take their meds or worse forget they have already taken them and take ‘em again. Recent studies estimate that over half of the hospital days for folks over 65 fall into this category.
  • Take a hard look at the two socialized medicine programs our government has run for years, MEDICARE and MEDICAID. First off, there is no competition in these programs. The prices are fixed by the government. There are no incentives for health care providers to be cost effective. In fact, providers are incented to over treat and over sell. It is a friggin’ mess! A little competition and an alignment of incentives for all would work miracles! But, this IS the GUVMENT! Guvment don’t improve nothin’ but the pocket books of bureaucrats and politicians.
  • A legitimate role for the government is to establish data standards and mandate Electronic Medical Records for all. These records would be the property of each patient who would control access to it. The technology exists today to enable all providers to participate in such a program with only a computer and a web browser to access “the cloud”. What would that do for us? There are credible estimates that a functioning universal electronic medical record system would save as much as 40% of the total health care bill. This savings occurs by eliminating duplicatetests and treatments and medication “mishaps”, improving medical decisions, and reducing administrative costs. It would also allow “data mining” to discover the secrets that are now hidden in useless paper records and incompatible or isolated data bases. We could then actually discover what really works best. Perhaps a cure for the now incurable, but certainly the most effective ways to approach virtually all disease processes and injuries.

Throwing $trillions at a grossly inefficient system with out fixin’ the inefficiencies, aligning incentives, eliminating waste and employing technology correctly is absolute lunacy! Instead of tossin’ Trillions, let’s start tossing dumb ass politicians and neanderthal bureaucrats. Lets get some sanity into this process and focus on fixin’ the things that are broke rather than magnifying them!

Cowboys know what to do with elite socialist career politicians who are enjoying their turn at the feeding trough and destroying America as they gorge. You do too!
