WOW ... what a great post, Doug. You hit the nail square on the head and you are right: with our ideals and principles, and our tendency to get on with the business of life, we conservatives took for granted our liberties would -- COULD never be taken from us. We were wrong.

I look back now to the early '60s, when I had just started grade school. I remember vividly the Beatles' first appearance on Ed Sullivan and being forbidden by my parents to listen to rock music, as they contended its purpose was to erode American values and morals. Everyone laughs at that quaint idea now, but from Elvis's censored hips to the Fab Four and beyond, all the way to Woodstock and Vietnam and the social/moral meltdown that found firm footing in the turmoil and upheaval of the mid-'60s, the erosion has been slow but steady. Now we are facing total immolation -- and for many, likely martyrdom -- and have just now REALLY taken notice and are saying, HOW DID WE GET HERE? It is unbelievable.

You are so right about GE. I had already "sort of" boycotted them (except being forced to replace a stove element with a GE product recently), but now my efforts will be redoubled. I have also boycotted Pepsi for their flagrant endorsement of the homosexual agenda and the Obama regime.

Another great source of information about corporations hell-bent on the destruction of American values and freedoms is Don Wildmon's American Family Association. I get email alerts on immoral and anti-American advertising trends and he makes it convenient to send emails. It has been effective. http://www.afa.net/about.asp

Thank you so much, Doug, for your succinct but passionate treatment of these great issues.

We agree with you 100%. NBCU must stop this ultra-biased coverage now. Even GE shareholders pressed GE CEO and Chairman, Jeffrey R. Immelt, about the obvious bias of NBCU.

Nikki Finke, of Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood Daily, reports,

"It's a very dangerous situation when any huge multinational corporation wages war against media companies. Especially when that huge multinational corporation is General Electric, which itself owns a media company, NBC Universal, and it's using all its power and influence and money to try to harm another media company, Nielsen, and Nielsen Business Media, and its trade publication The Hollywood Reporter. This certainly sounds like a situation which the FCC, and the FTC, and the U.S. Justice Department should be investigating. Just one problem: the controversy stems from GE/NBCU's coverage of President Obama."

GE had to jettison their previous decades-old slogan, "We Bring Good Things To Life", when it became obvious that BABIES were NOT among those "good things" this corporate giant had ANY interest in seeing be "brought to life"! GE's long term support for abortion has manifested itself primarily in the actions of its media mouthpiece, MSNBC, and overpaid, supercilious puppets such as Keith Olbermann. Considering the level of "competency" and "integrity" that MSNBC brings to its "news", it's no wonder GE picked up its new slogan: "Imagination At Work"! I will definitely support a boycott of GE products.

I am glad I found this site.

I have undertaken a few projects on my own. Here are a few things that I may have learned:

- Numbers matter in a geometric fashion, therefore actions by a single individual may not gain traction even if many people are contacted
- There are traditionally conservative demographic groups that are not net-savvy (older folks) and therefore have limited, or no sources of reliable information. Some of them also have a lot of time on their hands

I will look more through what you have posted here and do some more thinking about the possible next steps.
